
Deborah Vasquez, MD, MPH

Dr. Vasquez is a pediatrician and currently serves as the Interim Chief Medical Officer at Whitney M. Young Health Center. Prior to joining WMY in 2013, Dr. Vasquez provided pediatric care for children and families in the NYC homeless and domestic violence shelter system. Dr. Vasquez has served as Medical Director for the Bureau of Immunizations at the New York State Department of Health. She completed her internship and residency in Pediatrics at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx and residency in Community and Preventive Medicine at Mount Sinai/Wyckoff Hospital. She earned her Master in Public Health from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Her MD from the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University. She grew up in Washington Heights in upper Manhattan, the daughter of Dominican immigrants. Dr. Vasquez believes that children deserve comprehensive services that meet their medical, social and academic needs in a caring community.
